Mareg Fishing Lakes were created 14 years ago as a hobby by French businessman Michel.

When he bought the site, it consisted of a mass of land with a single, spring fed lake. The lakes were originally intended to be a fish farm and have been unfished for some time so how big the fish in the lakes are has yet to be fully established.
